• Develop and deploy BD strategies - which defines type of services, pricing, target customers
• Evaluate opportunities of expansion into different segments, geographies, service-offerings; present such alternatives to Director
• Generate annual and monthly company-level sales forecasts
• Monitor monthly sales performance against forecast targets and devise catch-up strategies; present monthly performance report with gap analysis and corrective actions to Director - Logistics
• Actively identify and establish contacts with potential customers through company and personal network of professionals, cold calling, participation in trade shows etc.
• Aim at entering into strategic alliances/MoUs with customers to ensure demand stability
• Continually interact with regional BD teams to understand market
conditions and offer guidance
• Establish pricing to be offered at different branches for various services based on market offerings, internal costs
• Continually interact with the Operations Team and decide on feasibility of offering certain specific services on clients demands
• Conduct random audits of BD processes to ensure that no unethical practices are adopted
• Define compensation structure for BD Representatives so as to motivate them to generate more sales; ensure frequent revisions keeping in mind market trends
• Review and approve branch-level sales promotion initiatives taken to boost sales, launch new services etc.
• Launch nation-wide sales promotion initiatives
• Launch initiatives such as advertising, participation in trade shows etc. to improve brand value of Shahini- Logistics
• Define territories and customers of different BD Representatives; resolve potential conflicts
• Create a strong, nation-wide BD team; be involved in recruitment and development of the team through training programs
• Ensure maintenance of client databases; incorporate standardized processes for client registration, evaluation
• Gain insights into competitor strategies (products, pricing, distribution channels, geographies)
• Drive initiatives to improve BD performance and guide such programs towards successful completion (such initiatives could include improved order booking process, standardizing client proposal documents, amongst others)
• Ensure standardization of processes across national operations; guide replication of successful initiatives in one branch to other branches
• Conduct performance review for all sub-ordinates based on past year’s performance and set goals for the next year
• Ensure compliance to internal company BD policy and other such audit requirements from internal quality groups and external customers
