I'm working with ArcGIS Schematics on a schematic dataset with several diagrams which requires quite a lot of manual editing. Since during testing Schematics managed to utterly destroy the schematic dataset several times I'm really interested in a backup solution.
The schematic dataset is stored in an SDE and I hoped I could create a script to export it to a file geodatabase in regular intervals.
There exists a function to do this manually:[http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.2/index.html#//004z00000052000000][1]
But I neither found a corresponding toolbox nor an arcpy function.
I more and more get the impression that it would be a better approach to work on the schematic dataset in a file geodatabase which can be backuped as a whole and export the diagrams for other users to the SDE.
Did I miss something? Or can anybody come up with an alternative solution to create a backup of the schematic dataset?
