Are there any plugins that have functions like ArcScan in QGIS?

I am looking for a plugin which does raster scanning, like ArcScan. Typical QGIS Vectorization returns very bad outputs that have thousands of 'islands'.

Also, can anyone please guide me on how to convert a raster in to 2 bit raster? It is required for a clean and efficient vectorization process.
