Advantages / Disadvantages of sharing mosaic with “Share as image service”

I couldn’t figure out what is the advantages/disadvantages of sharing mosaic with “Share as image service”. I am always adding the mosaic to the TOC and share the mxd file as a service, but I don’t know which one of the two methods is better.



It would be great to know which method is more suitable for sharing the mosaic data set
