I have a USB Globalsat BU-353-S4 GPS device I use with GPSD for linux. This device defaults to SiRF mode, however, I prefer to use standard NMEA mode. When I use gpsctl -n it sometimes changes to NMEA mode, sometimes not. using gpsctl -n -f /dev/ttyUSB0 is also not reliable method of changing modes.
Is there a better way to change modes with GPSD?
