Job Description :
Strong Java web applications developer with proven experience in project management of large GIS Web based applications initiatives. Requires expert knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures used in all phases of full life cycle applications and systems development, engineering, programming, and analysis at a highly technical level.
Contributing member and team lead of developers in deploying web-based, data-driven applications. Engaged in the development and implementation of system specifications, designs, integration, testing, and documentation. Develops risk management and mitigation strategies. Ensures compliance with QA standards.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
1.Participates in the design and coding of software products.
2.Performs systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.
3.Prepares comprehensive test plans and conducts tests.
4.Analyzes test results and recommends moderately complex corrections to more experienced software engineers.
5.Designs and develops compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
6.Advises hardware engineers on machine characteristics that affect software systems, such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements.
7.Writes and updates technical documentation such as user manuals, system documentation, and training materials.
8.Troubleshoots problems and provides customer support for software operating system and application issues.
9.Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
10.Participates in special projects as required.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training.
2-5 years of related software development experience with proven experience in project management of large web based applications initiatives.

Essential Qualifications
1. Knowledge of System Development Life Cycle, product development methodologies, database methodologies and system integration.
2. Experience developing GIS applications using Java/J2EE technologies (JDBC, Servlets, JSP) .
3. Experience with client side web development languages (Java,JavaScript, HTML, ASP, ASP.net, DHTML, CSS).
4. Experience with Pitney Bowes Mapinfo ,MapXtreme and Mapinfobased applications is required
5. Experience in developing web based services and SOA
6. Experience in code management and version control
7. Knowledge and experience with project management tools
8. Experience coaching/supervising and mentoring staff
9. Should possess strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
10. Strong client relationship management skills.
