Alqemam is looking for a highly qualified GIS Developer to design and develop GIS Applications offerings both to extend existing product as well as develop new products for our environment team.
Responsibilities :
• To undertake development work on new and existing GIS applications.
• To assist in estimating the effort and timescales involved in the tasks that have been delegated to the team.
• To participate in quality reviews, constantly striving to improve working practices.
• To assist with formal analysis of user requirements with regard to new and existing systems, and to provide appropriate design documentation.
• To ensure that developed software is robust, meets the user`s functional requirements.
• To ensure that developed software has undergone unit and system testing prior to handover to the Testing and Integration Team.
• To operate proactively within an environment of closely managed projects, providing regular task updates and supporting project management processes.
Requirements:
Personal:
• Sound technical knowledge of Geographic Information Systems
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Highly motivated and enthusiastic
Technical:
• Experience of one or more of the following: VB.NET, C#.NET
• Experience of developing GIS products in an enterprise scale organization
• Experience of Oracle 10g
• Experience of data modeling and system design methodologies
• Awareness of cartographic standards
• Awareness of geographic information metadata standards
• Experience of geodatabase design and administration
• Experience of advanced geo-processing techniques
• Web development, using server side scripting languages
• Experience of application development using ESRI’s ArcObjects, API “preferred”
• Use of ESRI`s Model Builder
• Experience of one or more of the following ESRI product set, e.g. ArcInfo, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcIMS or ArcSDE
• Experience of relational database management systems
• A good working knowledge of geographic information management and spatial data standards
