SuperMap GIS 6R Desktop is a professionally integrated GIS software, which consists of three levels: SuperMap Viewer .NET 6R, SuperMap Express .NET 6R and SuperMap Deskpro .NET 6R. SuperMap Deskpro .NET 6R is a desktop product of programmable, extensible, customizable and integrated 2D-3D, which provides the functions of data management, map-related, layout, 3D, data processing and type conversion so as to satisfy the diverse needs of users.
SuperMap GIS 6R(2012) SP3 Desktop is committed to providing variously advanced analysis functions that are easy to use so as to give the references of the analyses and decisions to all walks of life. Analysis is a core component of GIS, and also a significant label of an important difference between GIS and other information systems. The SP3 version has increasingly sophisticated raster analysis as well as new functions of dynamic segmentation, hydrology analysis and network analysis, which provides powerful support for GIS analysis. Meanwhile, this version continues providing more useful data processing, mapping and other functions, and improving the integrity and ease of use of desktop products.

SuperMap Deskpro .NET 6R(2012) Service Pack 3 has the following new and enhanced features:

New Features

Data Manipulation

New OpenStreetMap data engine, and Baidu map engine which supports the online reading and displaying of the Baidu map service.
New external vector file engine which can read variously external vector files.
Supports the function of importing the MapInfo workspace which is to import the dataset as well as the maps and symbols in the workspace so that users can directly use it.
Supports the spatial query of the CAD data so that users can perform the spatial query on various data.
New function of creating image dataset which supports loading multiple image files into an image dataset that will be operated as an image layer.
Supports building pyramid for the raster files (*.tiff, *.tif, *.img) which are opened in the form of datasource.
Supports importing an OSGB dataset as a CAD dataset which can be displayed in the scene.
Supports the interactively semi-automatic vectorization function of the image/raster data so as to improve the efficiency of the vectorization by users.
Mapping and Browsing

New overlap setting function. When the points, texts and symbols are overlapped with each other in the map, you can control the filtering of different objects so as to improve the display effect of maps.
Add a new function that is to delay refreshing using the roller. When this function is activated, the map will be reloaded in 0.4 second after the roller rolls that is very effective for speeding up the display speed of the massive data.
Supports the PNG 8 map cache file whose background is transparent and storage space is smaller. A variety of pictures can satisfy the output requirements of various maps.
Add a new function that is to set the display order field of the object. The map objects will display in a numerical order of the display order field (ascending order or descending order).
Supports creating the map cache in a resuming/recovery way. It will continue generating the map cache file according to the progress of the last operation.
Scene Operations

Adds two new particle effects: Rain and snow. It can realistically simulate the scenarios of rain and snow.
Adds a new function that is to export a CAD 3D model dataset as a *.X model file so as to facilitate users to use the model in other application program.
Supports the setting of always render, which means the scene will still be rendered in real time after the scene loses focus.
New Absolute Underground mode corresponding to the Relative To Underground mode. When the elevation is calculated, the datum is the earth surface which is not be affected by the terrain.
Supports setting the transparency for the raster/image layer in the scene so as to achieve the transparent effect.
Supports setting the thin display distance for the vector model cache. According to the specified distance, the close model is displayed using a thin model, and the far model is displayed using a simple model. It is very conducive to the resource allocation when the model is rendering so that the scene has greater display efficiency.
Adds a new function that is to set the preloaded range, which is used to set the loaded range of the vector model cache. This can increase the display range of the model cache so as to make it more fluid in the scene browser.
The 3D fly manager adds a new accelerating/decelerating play function so as to help users better control the flight.
When the full scene cache is being generated, it supports the texture compression (PC and PAD texture compression format). For the PAD texture compression format, it supports generating the offline map package which can be used on the iOS equipment.
New 3D custom thematic map which supports creating the custom thematic map in the scene. Its operation method is similar to that of the 2D custom thematic map.
Spatial Analysis

New building DEM function which is to simulate the creation of the terrain according to the given contours and elevation points data so as to get the raster dataset.
New DEM building lakes function which can achieve to build lakes in the process of building DEM or after the DEM is built so as to make the local micro-topography to be better simulated.
New DEM split function which is to split the DEM data into two new raster datasets according to the split line in the situation that is not to change the data range.
New computing surface function which supports computing the distance, area and volume of the raster surface.
New distance grid function which is to analyse the spatial distance from each grid cell to its closest cell. There are 3 methods: Generating the (straight-line) distance grid, calculating the shortest route and computing the shortest route between two points.
New raster statistics function which provides multiple statistical methods for the raster data including the statistics of basic, common, neighborhood, elevation and zonal.
New thinning raster function which is used to thin the raster data for the raster vectorization. It is applicable to the process of converting raster data into line data.
New profile analysis function which is used to analyse the sectional variation of the raster surface along a specified line so as to help understand the undulating terrain of the profile and calculate the profile area so as to provide references for the engineering design and measurement.
New finding extrema function which is to find the extrema information of the grid surface in a specified region, including the number and magnitude of the extrema.
New 3D orthophotography function which is used to generate an orthophotography for the raster data.
New hillshade function which is used to generate a stereo hillshade map with the parameters of the grid surface such as the angles of the light sources and shadows.
Dynamic Segmentation

New dynamic segmentation function. The application provides a complete dynamic segmentation process, including generating the routing, calibrating the routing, generating/overlaying/dissolving the event table, managing the event table relationship, etc. It can generate spatial data with the routing dataset and event table to achieve the high-efficient linkage modifications based on the dynamic segmentation relations so as to help users quickly solve the problem of the actual dynamic positioning.
Hydrology Analysis

New hydrology analysis function helps users study the hydrologic characteristics of the drainage area and simulate the hydrologic process of earth surface. The functions of hydrology analysis mainly include filling sinks, calculating flow direction, calculating flow length, calculating cumulative water, river grading, connecting water system and vectorization.
Network Analysis

New network analysis function. The practical problems can be solved by various analyses in the network model. Currently the application provides a variety of transportation analyses such as optimal path analysis, finding closest facility, traveling salesmen analysis, service area analysis and logistics, and a variety of facility analyses such as tracing analysis, adjacent element analysis and connected element analysis.
Sample Data and Symbol Resources

New CBD scene cache data which are used to display the Beijing CBD scene.
New symbolization modelling data of the CBD data which are the symbolization modelling scene based on the 2D map data. It can view the scene model by the linkage with the 2D map.
Symbol selector supports simultaneously loading multiple symbol libraries so as to facilitate users to browse and apply symbol resources in a larger range.
Enhanced Features

Unifiedly adjusts the 3D altitude mode. The way after adjusting is better to distinguish between ground and underground data. The optimized features include the settings of altitude mode, extension property of thematic maps and particle object management window.
Optimizes the functions of histograms. The application provides two types of histograms: The sample point histogram visually displays the frequency's distribution of a field of sample points; the raster histogram does statistics on the distribution of all the cell values of raster data.
Redesigns the management buttons of the color library. The functions of new color library buttons are more comprehensive and powerful, which support adding a color palette, importing/exporting color library files, picking a color from a picture file, adding labels for colors, etc.
Improves the connected line function. The application provides two connected ways: Head-to-tail connection and adjacent point connection. It also defines the direction of the line object after the connection.​
