Hi,
I am geologist in Louisiana, who is trying to create a geological isopach map of a stratigraphic layer using two intersecting DEMs. The problem is that when I do that using the Minus Program in ArcGIS 10.3, I get a contour maps with two sets of contours, one in negative values and one in positive values. Since one of these contour values is imaginary since it lies about ground level, which is one of the DEMs, would like to assign a "zero" value to the values in that set of contours. This will leave the other, real set of contours exhibited by the map, which is what i want to do. The second DEM is the base of a geological contact.
What is the best way to create contour maps using ArcGIS?
How can I get rid of one of the two sets of contours that "Minus" generates?
Any help, advice, or comments that anyone can give me would greatly appreciated.
Best wishes,
paul
