These are "Geocells" used to improve the strength/bearing capacity of weak soil strata and arrest the settlement due to loading. Engineers are using these geocell as a reinforcing material and putting asphalt mixed aggregates into the holes of geocell. These geocells are arresting the lateral displacement of asphalt mix aggregate subsequently increasing the loading capacity of road.
