My laptop is getting to the end of its life: the battery died a long time ago, it overheats a lot, and it's getting more and more sluggish. For my next computer, I'm considering a laptop/tablet 2 in 1 with an active digitizer, so I can work in Illustrator/MAPublisher right on the screen, among other advantages. Microsoft's Surface Pro 3 seems almost perfect except for the smallish 12" screen, too few ports, limited memory, and a flimsy-looking keyboard. Rumor has it that Surface Pro 4 will offer a 14" screen and some other improvements, so I may wait a few months until it comes out.
Does anyone do mapping work with an active digitizer on a 2 in 1, tablet, etc.? Is it any easier to work directly on the screen instead of using a mouse?
