In Oasis montaj and Target, you can create Geological Surfaces from a Lithology Voxel. This is useful if you would like to use geologic units in VOXI modelling constraints (through Constraints > Create Constraints > Build a model) or advanced interpretation in Target modelling.
1. Create the Lithology Voxel with 3D > Voxel Utilities > Create Lithology Voxel.
2. Export the Lithology Voxel to a database with 3D > Voxel Conversions > Voxel to GDB.
The database will have all the lithologies as number classes.
3. Convert the database to a voxel with 3D > Voxel Conversions > GDB to Voxel. This will create a numeric voxel.
4. Convert the new numeric voxel to Geosurfaces in the 3D Viewer using Add to 3D > Isosurface > Create Multiple Isosurfaces. To create multiple isosurfaces, select intervals representing values as number classes. Example: 1 to 1.9 (class 1), 2 to 2.9 (class 2), etc.
Multiple isosurfaces can be selected to build a model in the VOXI tools or Target mapping.
