COP 21 meeting in Paris Canada’s Environment and Climate Change Minister Catherine McKenna said that her government wants the Paris agreement to restrict planetary warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius.* She also said that the agreement should include a five-year review of each nation's goals and achievements. Also she supports a legally binding agreement “the most important thing is that each country should be legally required to submit a target. And to report on progress on that target on a regular basis - there should also be a legally binding requirement in the agreement that countries improve their targets regularly."
