Our client, the government master planning agency for Qatar in the Middle East, is now expanding their international resourcing requirements due to the recent award of FIFA 2022 to Qatar. Our client seeks a GIS Analyst who will work as part of the Qatar National Master Planning Team to provide GIS support to the planning team.
Reporting to the GIS Group Team Leader, your duties will include to:
• Undertake the National Master Planning Project GIS analyses, data modeling and preparation of maps/graphics in response to QNMP project needs.
• Carry out GIS data management tasks including data creation, collection, cleansing and maintenance.
• Assist with requests from urban planners and designers in the Urban Planning Department for GIS services and products.
• Assist in the administration of custom GIS applications for managing, analyzing and retrieving GIS data.
• Integrate CAD and other datasets with the GIS.
Requirements
• An appropriate tertiary qualification together with 2-3 years experience in GIS preferably in an urban planning domain.
• Extensive knowledge and demonstrated experience using ESRI’s ArcGIS and extensions.
• Understand the basics of cartography with the ability to manage and produce a high quality maps and reports.
• Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities, and to work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Good written and spoken English skills.
• Strong skills in use of Microsoft Office suite of products.
• Ability to prioritize, work independently, problem-solve, show adaptability and the capacity to work under pressure and to short time-lines.
