The aim of Mimics inPrint is to allow physicians or trained clinical users to easily create physical models from medical images. It is workflow-oriented to accommodate efficient segmentation and model creation in a hospital setting.Mimics inPrint allows the importation of DICOM image files on the user’s computer or via a PACS interface. The imported images are used to create ROIs (region of interest) with the help of dedicated semi-automated segmentation tools for cardiac, orthopedic or other applications. The software allows creation and manual refinement of ROIs through intuitive editing tools. The interactive 3D tools allow the conversion of ROIs into 3D parts and modifies them to include treatment objectives in the parts. For part traceability, Mimics inPrint enables labeling on the 3D parts along with post-processing tools to ensure part printability and correspondence with the anatomy. To facilitate communication amongst co-workers or patients, the software allows the easy exportation of 3D PDFs to share 3D parts.
